The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing field operations for an assigned area, including but not limited to: health and safety, contract execution, and all yard-related activities. The Operations Manager will also be responsible and accountable for managing Area Supervisors as well as all field execution with regard to quality of work and delivery of projects within the scope of the contract/project.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure projects are executed and organized according to the scope/plan of contracts;
- Plan and organize crew workload;
- Review work plans prior to assigning to foremen and crews;
- Manage all field activities;
- Liaise with clients and municipalities to resolve and clear issues and problems on a daily basis;
- Recommend best practices to complete tasks at hand in the most cost-effective and safe manner;
- Supervise and lead the team leaders, foremen and crews toward goals and objectives;
- Ensure a culture of health and safety is implemented on each project and lead the team accordingly by being an inspiring model;
- Participate in the JHSC meeting as management representative;
- Ensure proper implementation of the company’s procedures with regard to health & safety;
- Complete and follow up on safety and quality site inspections, identify areas of concern and put in place plans to rectify;
- Ensure productivity KPIs are created, enforced, and met. Propose alternative solutions and actions when required;
- Manage subcontractors and align with field priorities;
- Optimize project productivity with regard to resources and equipment;
- Participate in monthly project analysis and month-end reporting;
- Manage yard activities and optimize fleet and equipment;
- Lead, communicate, and live the company’s vision and culture;
- Assess skills of employees and coordinate the field training of employees;
- Assist with emergency after-hours call-outs and any emergencies when the situation dictates;
- Optimize resource requirements;
- Hire and coach new teams as necessary;
- Assist in purchasing equipment for new teams;
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8+ years of field supervision and project management experience;
- Knowledgeable of telecommunications civil projects is preferred;
- Previous experience in Directional Drilling is required;
- Strong leader and communicator with crews at all levels;
- Ability to work with internal and external parties to resolve operational issues;
- Strong planning and organizational skills;
- Experience in developing and coaching teams to ensure field operation excellence;
- Experience in creating and enforcing KPIs.

Salary: $95,000.00-$130,000.00 per year

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programs and policies that align with the company's overall mission and values while promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, retention, compensation and benefits, as well as managing all construction health and safety programs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all human resources activities, including recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance management, and compensation and benefits administration.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to human resources that align with the company's overall mission and values.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on all HR matters.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Develop and implement construction health and safety policies and procedures that align with company values and goals.
- Identify potential safety hazards and develop and implement plans to mitigate risks.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
- Work with management to create and enforce KPIs related to construction health and safety.
- Facilitate safety training for employees and ensure all safety-related training is up to date.
- Manage all safety-related incidents and investigations.
- Maintain all safety-related documentation and records.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, occupational health and safety, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in human resources and/or construction health and safety management.
- Knowledge of federal and provincial health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to human resources and construction health and safety.
- Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and investigations.
- Experience in creating and enforcing KPIs related to construction health and safety.
